The Encompass Group is partnering with a rapidly growing industrial manufacturing and service organization to identify an Industrial Sales Representative for their Houston market. This organization is recognized as a technical leader in the overhead crane and material handling industry, serving some of the most respected names in aerospace, transportation, and heavy manufacturing.

Position Overview

The Industrial Sales Representative will be responsible for developing and growing business within the Houston territory by selling overhead crane solutions to industrial and manufacturing customers. This role requires a proactive, hunter-minded sales professional who enjoys building relationships, generating new opportunities, and serving as a trusted resource for clients.

You will work directly with end users, general contractors, plant managers, operations leaders, and industrial manufacturers to identify equipment needs and deliver customized solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industrial and manufacturing customers throughout the territory
  • Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and customer visits
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Conduct site visits and collaborate with internal engineering and technical teams to develop solutions
  • Prepare and present proposals and equipment bids
  • Track and manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities
  • Partner with customers to understand operational challenges and recommend appropriate crane solutions
  • Maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships
  • Travel throughout the territory as needed to support customers and business development efforts
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in industrial, technical, or capital equipment sales
  • Experience selling products such as overhead cranes, compressors, pumps, welding equipment, conveyors, manufacturing equipment, or other industrial solutions is highly preferred
  • Strong business development and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles while maintaining an active pipeline
  • Comfortable working directly with plant managers, operations teams, contractors, and industrial decision-makers
  • Self‑motivated, energetic, and driven to exceed sales goals
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Willingness to spend significant time in the field meeting with customers
