Business Development Manager

A growing international specialty food distributor is seeking a Business Development Manager to expand sales across the Houston and broader Texas market. This is a field-based hunter role focused on new account development, customer relationships, product placement, and growing store presence across specialty food, grocery, retail, and food service accounts.

Location & Compensation

Houston, TX Area — $52K - $60K Base + 20% Monthly Bonus + Allowance + Benefits

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Prospect and develop new grocery, retail, specialty market, and food service accounts
  • Build relationships with store owners, buyers, operators, and decision makers
  • Grow existing accounts through new placements, better store presence, and product expansion
  • Research market trends and identify new sales opportunities across Texas
  • Partner with internal sales and marketing teams to hit revenue and profit goals
  • Support sales reps in improving customer coverage and account performance
  • Learn and represent a large portfolio of imported international food products
  • Maintain pipeline activity, proposals, follow-up, and customer communication
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of sales, business development, territory sales, or outside sales experience
  • Food, beverage, grocery, CPG, wholesale, distribution, or food service experience preferred
  • Strong hunter mentality with cold calling, prospecting, and relationship-building ability
  • Comfortable working in the field and traveling across Texas
  • CRM experience preferred
  • Self-motivated, competitive, and comfortable handling objections
