A global manufacturer of premium packaging solutions is seeking a Sales & Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Texas market and surrounding region. The company serves a diverse customer base in the beverage, beauty, personal care, pharmaceutical, and specialty food sectors, offering customized packaging solutions and value-added decorative services.

This position is ideal for a highly motivated sales professional who enjoys building relationships, developing new business, and managing strategic customer accounts within a manufacturing environment.

Position Summary

The Sales & Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and executing regional sales strategies, managing key customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the sales process.

This is a field-based role requiring regular travel throughout the assigned territory. The successful candidate will combine strong business development skills with the ability to understand technical manufacturing solutions and customer packaging requirements.

Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Growth
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth within assigned markets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and cold outreach
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract execution
Account Management
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with existing customers and key decision-makers
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts
  • Understand customer objectives and provide tailored product and packaging solutions
  • Drive customer retention and identify opportunities for account expansion
Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis
  • Monitor industry trends, customer demands, and emerging opportunities
  • Provide regular updates regarding market conditions, customer activity, and competitive developments
  • Support annual sales planning and forecasting initiatives
Product & Solution Consulting
  • Present product capabilities and customized solutions to customers
  • Collaborate with operations, production, and technical teams to meet customer requirements
  • Recommend alternative products and solutions based on specifications, cost, availability, and performance requirements
  • Develop a working knowledge of manufacturing processes and product capabilities
Reporting & Performance Management
  • Maintain CRM records and sales activity reporting
  • Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline updates, account summaries, and revenue projections
  • Monitor account receivables, inventory trends, and customer performance metrics
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and growth plans for assigned accounts
Industry Representation
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry conferences, networking events, and customer meetings
  • Build relationships throughout the packaging, beverage, consumer products, and manufacturing communities
  • Travel regularly to customer locations, manufacturing facilities, and corporate meetings
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience
  • Proven success managing strategic customer relationships and driving revenue growth
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. market and customer development strategies
  • Experience selling within manufacturing, packaging, consumer products, industrial products, or related industries
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based sales environment
  • Willingness to travel throughout the region as needed
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with in packaging, glass manufacturing, spirits, beverage, consumer products, or related industries
  • Background selling to manufacturers, distributors, brand owners, or consumer goods companies
