Bus Sales Representative

Department: HOLT Truck (TRUCK)

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: HTT - Houston Bus

Description

Serves customers by selling vehicles; meeting customer needs. Achieves maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company's products and/or related services. Personally, contacts and secures new business accounts/customers.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily:

Essential Functions
  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Prospects for new customers in a manner prescribed by management
  • Makes telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers
  • Maintains client and prospect databases
  • Follows department procedures in completing bus paperwork using available system tools
  • Coordinates service work with the service department
  • Coordinates financing and insurance with the appropriate departments
  • Is available for required meetings and other appointed times consistent and required to conduct and maintain sales department business
  • Meets established performance criteria as determined by sales manager
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business accounts/customers
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving; ability to determine solutions for customers
  • Results oriented and able to work independently and within a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software
Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-year Commercial Bus Sales experience required
  • Must possess 2-3 years of experience in equipment or related bus/vehicle sales

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Travel:

  • Willing to travel about sales region
  • Valid driver's license

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms

Work Environment:

  • This job is generally performed in a retail and office environment; exposure to computer screens; exposure to noise, dust, grease, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions
  • Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruption
