The Commercial Key Account Manager, Bulk supports the organization’s commercial objectives through a combination of business development and account management activities. The role is structured with an approximate 60% focus on business development and 40% focus on account management.
This position is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, maintaining an active sales pipeline, and supporting the conversion of prospects into customers. In addition, the role contributes to the ongoing management and development of assigned customer accounts to ensure service quality, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth.
The position works cross-functionally with operations, finance, and other internal stakeholders to support commercial processes and ensure effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities Business Development (Approximately 60%)- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within target markets and customer segments.
- Develop and maintain a structured and up-to-date sales pipeline.
- Support the preparation of proposals, pricing, and commercial submissions.
- Participate in tender processes and contract discussions as required.
- Conduct market and customer research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with prospective clients and industry stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at industry events and networking functions as appropriate.
- Track and report on pipeline activity and business development performance.
- Support the management of assigned customer accounts, including maintaining regular communication.
- Conduct periodic account reviews to assess customer satisfaction and identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor account performance, including service delivery and commercial outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling services.
- Support contract renewals and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
- Assist in resolving customer issues in coordination with internal teams.
- Support accounts receivable follow-up activities to ensure timely payment.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., operations, finance, HSSE) to ensure alignment on customer requirements and service delivery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, opportunities, and accounts.
- Provide customer feedback and market insights to support continuous improvement.
- Adhere to established commercial processes, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Support compliance with maritime industry standards, including ISPS, MARPOL, and local port regulations where applicable.
- Assist with incident communication and escalation in line with company procedures.
- Contribute to maintaining service quality and operational consistency.
- Comply with all company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures.

- Bachelor’s degree in business, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field is required.
- 3–5 years of experience in commercial, sales, or account management roles is required, with a preference of experience in maritime, logistics, or related industry.
- Previous experience in the marine agency or related industry is required.
- Strong understanding of port agency services and vessel operations is highly preferred.
- Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Must have excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task procedural and project management tasks within short time constraint situations.
