Senior Bunker & Marine Fuel Trader – Back-to-Back & Physical Supply
Location: Houston, United States (Relocation Available)
Compensation: $60–120K Base + Performance Bonus

Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by an established global marine fuels supplier and trading group to appoint a Senior Bunker & Marine Fuel Trader as part of its continued North American expansion.
With over three decades of experience servicing the international bunkering industry, the firm combines strong physical supply infrastructure with an active global trading platform. The Houston office plays a key role in expanding both its back-to-back trading book and physical supply footprint across the Americas.
This opportunity is suited to an experienced bunker trader seeking to leverage both physical access and structured trading capability within a reputable, growth-oriented platform.
The Role – Bunker & Marine Fuels TradingAs a Senior Bunker Trader, you will:
- Manage and grow a back-to-back marine fuels trading portfolio across North America and international markets
- Promote and leverage the firm’s physical supply locations in strategic ports
- Trade products including Fuel Oil, Gas Oil (MGO), LSFO and alternative marine fuels
- Service shipowners, operators, charterers and trading houses across tanker, dry bulk and commercial fleets
- Respond to enquiries and execute trades efficiently across spot and term business
- Collaborate with the Head of Trading to identify new markets and growth opportunities
- Monitor global bunker pricing, port dynamics and supply trends to optimise trading decisions
- Utilise pricing, hedging and risk management tools to support margin protection
We would welcome discussions with candidates who have:
- 3+ years’ experience in back-to-back bunker or marine fuel trading within North America
- Established network of shipowners, operators and bunker suppliers
- Proven track record building and managing a profitable trading book
- Strong understanding of North American bunkering regulations and port policies
- Familiarity with hedging tools and marine fuel pricing mechanisms
- Commercially driven mindset with disciplined execution capability
- Based in Houston or open to relocation within the US
- Established global marine fuels supplier with 30+ year track record
- Hybrid model combining physical supply and trading capability

- Direct exposure to global port network and international client base
