Position OverviewAs an Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative, you will assess needs, produce quotes and proposals, prepare contracts and ensure customer satisfaction. To ensure success you must keep up to date on products and equipment, through regular communication with vendors and manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Duties- Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
- Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions.
- Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
- Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures of the company.
- Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns.
- Provide accurate information regarding the availability of in‑stock items.
- Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery.
- Increase sales and average order size by means of cross‑selling, up‑selling, add‑on sales and offering promotional sale items.
- Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products to improve product‑related sales and customer satisfaction.
- Develop meaningful relationships with customers to encourage trust and loyalty.
- Actively participate in shipping, receiving and inventory processes.
- Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint.
- Fill requests for catalogs, information or samples.
- Capturing accurate and complete information in Company software.
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the distribution team.
- Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to calculate percentages and pricing quickly and accurately.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Pass pre‑employment drug and alcohol screen and criminal background check.
- Provide valid documentation to prove citizenship in accordance with I‑9 requirements.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude.
- Maintain a strong attendance record and report to work at the designated start time.
- Willing to travel to various work sites or training as required.
- Willing to work overtime when necessary.
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures and comply with the Company’s “Stop Work” policy.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as directed.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers and supervisor with other duties as required.
- Associate degree (Preferred).
- Customer Service experience 2 years (required).
- Minimum of two years of successful selling experience, emphasis on industrial/commercial sales preferred.
- Must be persistent, energetic, and entrepreneurial.
- PC proficiency.
- This job operates in an office and warehouse environment.
- Uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets.
- Full‑time position with standard hours Monday‑through‑Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Minimal travel is expected.
- Ability to sit for long periods.
- Frequent use of hands to handle, feel, or operate objects such as a keyboard or mouse.
- Ability to reach, bend, and stoop occasionally.
- May occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision; ability to adjust focus during computer use and navigation of warehouse.
- Ability to hear and speak to interact with customers, coworkers, etc. on the telephone or video conference.
- Work may involve exposure to loud noises and various temperatures in the warehouse facility.
- Pay Range: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour.
