JOB SUMMARY

As the on‑property sales contact for customers, the Sales Manager proactively solicits and handles all revenue‑related opportunities. The role upsells each opportunity to maximize revenue, achieves personal and team revenue goals, and ensures effective turnover for service delivery.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSBusiness Results
  • Build department top‑line revenue by adhering to sales strategy guidelines set by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Identify revenue opportunities based on event profile and market conditions.
  • Meet and exceed individual revenue goals, managing customer budgets to maximize revenue.
  • Act as a mentor for others and exceed company minimum standards in the sales process.
  • Understand market dynamics, competitors, economic trends, supply and demand.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers through calls, FAM trips, etc.
  • Conduct customer site inspections and proactive selling targeting key accounts.
  • Respond to inquiries within the market segment within 4 hours.
  • Close best opportunities based on market conditions and hotel needs.
  • Accurately forecast group sleeping rooms and revenue before turnover, continuing partnership afterward.
  • Create sales contracts as required and comprehend budgets for financial management.
Guest Satisfaction
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and build long‑term mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing regarding event details, follow up post‑event.
  • Maintain presence during events, greet customers, and coordinate to the Convention Services department.
  • Actively solve problems and suggest alternatives.
  • Display leadership in hospitality and ensure consistent, high‑level service throughout all event phases.
  • Collect guest feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Respond to and handle guest complaints effectively.
  • Review Guest Service Results with leaders and develop corrective action plans.
  • Emphasize guest satisfaction during departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Use Delphi or other hotel systems to capture and manage customer information daily.

  • Apply broad business knowledge and balance short‑ and long‑term perspectives to generate strategies and lead the organization.
  • Demonstrate commitment to operating principles and philosophies.

Qualifications Experience
  • Must have 3+ years of progressive sales experience.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry preferred; selling luxury brands and experiential services preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Aggressive negotiating skills and creative selling to close business with a high conversion ratio.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of Delphi and Delphi Diagrams systems.
