An Outside Sales Rep (OSR) at JD Martin is the driving force for the revenue-generating success of the company. An OSR at a manufacturer rep firm works in conjunction with our Inside Sales Reps (ISR) and directly with our channel partners and manufacturers. In addition, they engage with the end customers by specifying products, providing solutions to customer challenges, and promoting new products to the marketplace.

This role will be that of an OSR focused on our existing distributor partners and largely the commercial & Industrial contractor market.

This role requires the right balance of electrical product experience, commercial & Industrial end-user experience, and sales savvy. You will be asked to work with and support engineers, end users, contractors, and OEMs with everything from wire, various raceways, installation products, transformers, and lighting.

To be successful in this role, you will be good at multi-tasking and enjoy the challenge of building relationships and solving customer problems. No day is the same, and each opportunity brings you new lessons to learn. You will be stretched professionally and challenged to grow the business, but we’ll have fun along the way. The team you will be a part of works hard every day and they are a big part of what makes this a great opportunity.

Experience and skills needed to achieve success include.

  • Electrical products experience.
  • Microsoft Office Skills
  • Existing electrical distributor, end user, and contractor relationships.
  • Understanding of industrial end-user and electrical contractors, challenges, and applications across a wide range of needs.
  • Effective organizational skills that allow you to manage multiple project pursuits at the same time.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to build professional relationships.
  • Clear thinking and levelheaded demeanor.
