We are seeking an experienced Sales Executive to drive strategic business growth by developing new customer relationships within the oil & gas industry. This role is dedicated to identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities while building long‑term partnerships with operators, midstream companies, EPC contractors, and other key energy organizations.
This is a true hunter role for someone who thrives on opening new doors, expanding market share, and winning business in a highly competitive environment. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of upstream oil & gas operations, exceptional relationship‑building skills, and a proven history of exceeding sales goals.
Key Responsibilities New Business Development- Develop and execute a strategic territory growth plan focused on acquiring new customers.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue high‑value opportunities within assigned markets.
- Build relationships with executive leadership, engineering, operations, procurement, and technical stakeholders.
- Create and execute account strategies designed to penetrate targeted organizations and expand market presence.
- Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, industry events, cold outreach, and market intelligence.
- Lead the sales process from initial engagement through contract negotiation and close.
- Conduct customer needs assessments and recommend technical solutions that align with operational objectives.
- Present compelling value propositions that differentiate products and services in competitive environments.
- Negotiate commercial terms while maintaining profitability objectives.
- Monitor industry trends, drilling and completion activity, capital projects, and competitive market conditions.
- Identify emerging business opportunities and provide market intelligence to leadership.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecasts, and opportunity updates.
- Share customer feedback and market insights to support future product and service offerings.
- Develop trusted relationships with decision‑makers across operations, engineering, procurement, and executive leadership.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
- Collaborate with internal technical, operations, and customer support teams to ensure customer expectations are successfully delivered.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by providing responsive service and technical expertise throughout the sales process.
- Consistently achieve or exceed new business revenue objectives.
- Maintain accurate CRM records documenting prospecting activity, customer interactions, and opportunity progression.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, competitive intelligence, and performance reports.
- Demonstrate a disciplined, proactive approach to territory management and business development.
- Minimum 8 years of successful outside sales experience within oilfield services, wellhead equipment, completion products, production equipment, or related energy markets.
- Demonstrated success generating new business and expanding strategic customer relationships.
- Established network of contacts with operators, midstream companies, EPC contractors, or other energy organizations.
- Strong understanding of wellhead systems, completion operations, production equipment, or similar technical products.
- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and executive decision‑makers.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and drive territory growth.
- Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel approximately 50–60% throughout the assigned territory.
