Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Better Business Bureau is seeking ambitious, relationship‑driven professionals who want more than just a job — they want their work to matter. As an Account Manager, you’ll help strengthen trust in the marketplace by connecting reputable businesses with the credibility and visibility that BBB Accreditation provides. This is a role where strong skills meet meaningful mission.

Overview

We are a mid‑sized, mission‑focused non‑profit dedicated to serving the public and promoting ethical business practices. Our team thrives in a fast‑paced, challenging, and engaging environment where performance is rewarded and purpose is at the center of everything we do.

When you succeed, you’re not just closing deals — you’re helping build a stronger, more trustworthy business community.

What You’ll Do

As an Account Manager, you’ll lead businesses through the Accreditation process while driving revenue and building long‑term relationships. Your responsibilities include:

  • Making 75–100 outbound calls daily to identify, qualify, and educate businesses across diverse industries.
  • Clearly communicating the value of BBB Accreditation and how it supports business growth, consumer trust, and community impact.
  • Presenting annual dues, addressing questions, and guiding businesses through the application process.
  • Collecting dues payments and preparing Accreditation applications for review.
  • Maintaining ongoing relationships with newly Accredited Businesses to support their continued success.
  • Generating leads through BBB databases, inbound requests, proactive outreach, and community engagement.
A Day in the Life
  • Identifying businesses in our service area that align with BBB standards.
  • Engaging business owners by phone (and occasionally in person) to discuss how Accreditation can help them grow.
  • Listening to their needs and demonstrating how BBB can help solve real challenges.
  • Processing payments and completing Accreditation applications.
  • Managing accounts post‑approval to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Consistently meeting or exceeding monthly goals and performance metrics.
  • Finding the next great company that could benefit from BBB Accreditation.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Track and manage all interactions in the BBB CRM system.
  • Prepare Accreditation applications for management review.
  • Follow up on all Accreditation requests to ensure timely completion.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, mission‑driven team culture.

This role is ideal for professionals who are competitive, coachable, and motivated by both financial success and meaningful work. If you’re ready to grow your career while helping elevate trust in the local business community, we’d love to meet you.
