As a Sales Associate at The Chefs' Warehouse, you ultimately act as the face of our company by delivering outstanding customer service and building and maintaining strong relationships.
You will be responsible for selling our fine products to restaurants, caterers, hotels, and retail establishments.
Responsibilities- Grow revenue: generate sales through new business and expanding existing accounts.
- Build customer portfolio: compile lists of prospective customers from networking, newspapers, directories, trade shows, websites, etc.
- Travel throughout territory and call on existing and prospective customers to secure orders.
- Showcase products using samples or catalogs that highlight key features and benefits that fit customer needs.
- Seal the deal: quote prices and credit terms to prepare contracts, and provide estimated delivery dates.
- Maintain timelines: collect payments from customers in a timely manner.
- Stay organized: maintain detailed records, update expense reports, keep internal systems current with customer and sales data, manage account receivables.
- Collaborate with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Track inventory levels to align product availability with demand.
- Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contracts rooted in trust for long‑term collaboration.
- Relevant experience: 1-2 years in restaurant sales, food sales, professional catering sales, or a chef position is highly desired.
- Positive attitude: high energy, enthusiastic, a strong team player, and motivated to take responsibility and achieve outcomes despite obstacles.
- Relevant skills: excellent organization, outstanding verbal and written communication, ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
- Self‑starter: eager to ask questions and learn new skills quickly.
- Education:
college degree desired but not required. - Leadership: able to foster a positive, innovative atmosphere that motivates others.
- Data‑driven: comfortable gathering facts and figures to monitor progress.
- Determined: sense of urgency in a fast‑paced environment to meet tight deadlines.
- Must live within a commutable distance to the assigned sales area.
