Position: Territory Sales Manager – Telecom & Utility (TX & LA)

, a Terry Durin Company, has been serving the electrical and telecom industry since 1908 and is one of the nation's largest independent stocking distributors of telecom infrastructure products. We supply contractors, utilities, municipalities, internet service providers (ISPs), and engineering firms with the conduit, fiber optic cable, handholes, vaults, and outside plant (OSP) products they need to build and maintain broadband infrastructure.

From rural broadband expansion to large-scale utility and telecom projects, you'll play a direct role in helping connect communities across Texas and Louisiana.

Unlike many distributors, you'll have the backing of two fully stocked distribution centers in Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth, allowing you to respond quickly and deliver for your customers.

We're looking for a motivated Territory Sales Manager to expand our presence throughout Texas and Louisiana. The ideal candidate already has established relationships within the telecom or utility industry and has a proven track record of developing new business.

This is a hunter role. We're looking for someone who thrives on opening new doors, building customer trust, and winning new business.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain and grow an established customer base throughout your assigned territory.
  • Develop new business through prospecting, networking, cold calling, and customer visits.
  • Develop new contractor relationships and become the preferred supplier throughout your territory.
  • Identify opportunities to expand business within existing customer accounts.
  • Build relationships with decision‑makers across your assigned territory.
  • Visit customer offices, job sites, and project locations.
  • Prepare quotations and follow up on bids and sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate with inside sales, purchasing, and warehouse teams to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Stay informed on upcoming broadband, utility, and infrastructure projects.
  • Attend trade shows, customer events, and industry meetings.
  • Plan and manage your territory to maximize customer coverage and sales growth.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of outside B2B sales experience or industry experience.
  • Telecom infrastructure or electrical distribution sales or on‑the‑job experience preferred.
  • Existing relationships with telecom contractors, utilities, municipalities, engineering firms, or ISPs are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and growing customer accounts.
  • Competitive, self‑motivated, and driven to exceed sales goals.
  • Strong communication, organization, and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable traveling throughout Texas and Louisiana 3–4 days per week.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
