Job Description
A general sales manager is responsible for the sales operations of a company or dealership. They manage sales teams, develop sales strategies, and ensure that sales goals are met.
General Sales Manager Responsibilities- Recruit, hire, and train sales teams to build and maintain strong customer relations.
- Understand and implement company culture and selling value to our customers.
- Be the collective voice of the sales group to assist where needed to improve.
- Work with a large number of sales reps to solve problems and offer solutions to customers.
- Work with suppliers to coordinate sales meetings and lead generation programs.
- Set sales goals, compare performance to goals, and adjust goals as needed.
- Assess current team processes and procedures, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop individual quotas and assign territories for team.
- Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasts.
- Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members.
- Foster a competitive yet collaborative team environment.
- Assess individual performance and suggest corrective actions as needed.
- Be a leader to the sales group and actively support all company initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field or, 5 years of experience in packaging sales management.
- Experience leading a large team of sales reps is a must - 10+.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Strong negotiation and relationship development skills.
- Experience setting sales goals.
- Results-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Deep understanding of customer relations and customer service.
