The Fleet and Commercial Account Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for managing relationships with business and commercial clients. This role includes prospecting and developing new fleet accounts, maintaining and growing existing accounts, and providing consultative guidance on vehicle options, financing, and insurance-related considerations. The Account Manager will coordinate vehicle quotes, orders, and deliveries, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up throughout the sales and service lifecycle.
Day-to-day tasks include conducting in-person and phone meetings with clients, preparing proposals, responding to inquiries, and collaborating with sales, service, and finance teams to meet customer and dealership goals. The role also involves tracking account performance, identifying opportunities for additional services, and representing Knapp Chevrolet professionally at all times.
- Candidates should possess strong Account Management skills, including relationship-building, territory management, and follow-up.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills, with a focus on responsiveness, problem-solving, and client satisfaction.
- Candidates should possess Insurance and related risk-awareness skills, including basic knowledge of commercial auto coverage and fleet considerations.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear verbal communication, professional email correspondence, and presentation abilities.
- Candidates should possess Sales skills, including consultative selling, negotiation, and closing techniques tailored to commercial and fleet customers.
- Relevant experience in automotive, fleet, or commercial vehicle sales is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple accounts, and use CRM or dealership management systems effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in business, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.
