Outside Sales Representative
Our client is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to develop new business and maintain strong customer relationships within the commercial doors, frames, and hardware (DFH) industry. This individual will identify project opportunities, review plans and specifications, support the bidding process, negotiate contracts, and help drive revenue growth across the market.
Required Skills & Experience Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of experience in construction sales, preferably within the doors, frames, and hardware industry. Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally and regionally. Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience Preferred Skills
Knowledge of commercial door, frame, and hardware products. Understanding of applicable building codes and regulations. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Comsense or similar industry software. Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, owners, architects, and end users. Identify and pursue new project opportunities to build sales pipeline and backlog. Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents. Collaborate with estimating teams to prepare accurate and competitive proposals. Present bids, follow up with customers, and negotiate contracts to secure business. Attend project meetings and support customers throughout project execution.
Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and vendors. Stay current on industry trends, product offerings, and building code requirements. Assist in resolving customer issues and support collections efforts when needed. Participate in sales meetings and contribute to market growth strategies.
