Position SummaryTCG is seeking a paid, part-time Sales Intern for an initial four-month internship based in Houston, Texas. This position combines structured training, mentorship, and practical experience in B2B and industrial sales.
Under the supervision of the sales team, the Sales Intern will assist with prospecting, lead generation, customer communications, sales presentations, quotations, CRM maintenance, marketing activities, and administrative sales support. The intern will receive training on TCG’s products, sales and marketing processes, customer relationship management, and coordination among Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Operations.
The internship may be extended beyond the initial four-month term based on the intern’s performance, continued learning objectives, departmental needs, and company approval. An extension is not guaranteed.
This position is classified as nonexempt. The intern must accurately record all time worked and will be paid for required meetings, training, customer communications, and other assigned work activities.
Responsibilities- Research and identify prospective customers and business opportunities.
- Conduct supervised outbound prospecting through phone calls, emails, Linked In, and other approved sales channels.
- Assist with lead generation and maintenance of the company’s sales pipeline.
- Follow up with prospective customers regarding products, pricing, samples, and quotations under the direction of the sales team.
- Assist in preparing sales presentations, quotations, and customer proposals.
- Maintain accurate customer and prospect information in the company’s CRM and sales-tracking systems.
- Assist with scheduling customer meetings and follow-up activities.
- Learn TCG’s products and communicate their features and benefits accurately and professionally.
- Assist with customer inquiries and relationship-management activities.
- Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Operations to support customer requirements.
- Track sales activities, leads, opportunities, and follow-up actions.
- Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Provide updates regarding assigned prospects and projects.
- Complete additional sales and business-development projects consistent with the internship’s educational and professional-development objectives.
- Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies that support sales objectives and company growth.
- Assist with planning, launching, monitoring, and managing marketing and lead-generation campaigns.
- Support Account-Based Marketing (ABM) initiatives targeting high-value prospects and customer accounts.
- Assist with email marketing and approved inbound and outbound outreach campaigns.
- Support lead-nurturing activities throughout the sales and marketing funnel.
- Track marketing campaign activities, prospect engagement, and lead-conversion progress in the company’s CRM and other approved systems.
- Coordinate with the sales team to ensure marketing activities align with customer-development and revenue-growth objectives.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional and confident when communicating with customers and prospective customers.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and introducing the company to prospective customers.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Self-motivated and willing to learn.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively under appropriate supervision.
