Outside Technical Sales Manager – Industrial Instrumentation
Location: Houston / Southeast Houston, TX
Territory: Houston Ship Channel and surrounding industrial markets
Work Style: Field-based / Outside Sales
Fluid.iO is a privately owned industrial instrumentation company with a history spanning more than four decades. Headquartered in Germany, we expanded our U.S. presence through the acquisition of Chase Controls, an established business serving customers since 1990.
We combine the stability, expertise, and technical excellence of an established global company with the agility and personal approach of a smaller organization. Our culture is built on reliability, integrity, teamwork, and direct communication. We value people who take ownership, enjoy working collaboratively, and bring a hands-on approach to solving problems and building long‑term customer relationships.
About the OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced, hands‑on Outside Technical Sales Manager to grow our K‑Dyne product business throughout the Houston‑area industrial market. This is a true business‑development and field‑sales role. You’ll spend your time meeting customers, identifying applications, opening new accounts, developing existing relationships, and turning opportunities into long‑term business.
Our primary K‑Dyne product line is manufactured locally at our Tomball, Texas facility and includes:
- Pneumatic pressure switches
- Pressure pilots and controls
- Pneumatic level controls
- Mechanical and industrial level instrumentation
- Related K‑Dyne control products
Your primary objective will be straightforward:
grow K‑Dyne sales, increase unit volume, and help expand production at our Tomball manufacturing operation.
This is primarily a local field‑sales position covering the Houston Ship Channel and Southeast Houston industrial corridor. Most customer visits should allow you to be home in the evening rather than requiring frequent overnight travel.
Your TerritoryThe primary territory includes:
- Channelview
- Texas City
- League City
- Houston Ship Channel
- Surrounding industrial areas
You will own and develop relationships throughout the territory, with responsibilities including:
- Prospecting and opening new customer accounts
- Conducting regular customer, plant, and facility visits
- Growing and developing existing accounts
- Identifying pressure, level, pneumatic, and control applications
- Understanding customer applications and technical requirements
- Managing opportunities from initial discussion through quotation and order
- Building repeat and replacement business
- Developing OEM and equipment‑builder opportunities
- Growing MRO and replacement sales
- Identifying product standardization opportunities within customer operations
- Increasing overall unit volume throughout the territory
- Working closely with our inside sales and technical teams to support customers and close business
This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently in the field and has enough technical knowledge to conduct productive customer conversations without needing an engineer at every meeting.
What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for a salesperson who enjoys being in front of customers, understands industrial environments, and is motivated by developing business rather than simply managing an existing book of accounts.
Relevant experience may include sales of:
- Valves, pipe, and fittings
- Pressure or pneumatic controls
- Process equipment
- Industrial hardware
- Mechanical products used in plants and production facilities
Experience selling into environments such as oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, refining, midstream, manufacturing, or other industrial operations is highly valued.
Direct K‑Dyne product experience is not required. We are looking for someone with the…
