The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma, is recruiting for a clinical research faculty member with a sub‑specialty in Multiple Myeloma. Physicians who have extensive research experience in clinical investigation and outcomes research with a particular focus on plasma cell dyscrasias such as amyloidosis, Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia, MGUS, and especially stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies in high‑risk Multiple Myeloma are strongly encouraged to apply.

The candidate will have protected time to lead and develop programs, translational clinical research and scholarly activities in keeping with departmental goals.

The selected candidate will seek appropriate funding mechanisms to support translational and clinical research, assist with mentoring young faculty, fellows, and trainees, and contribute to the overall mission of the department. Multiple collaboration opportunities are available with other clinicians, scientists, and physician‑scientists within the institution.

The successful candidate will hold an M.D., or an M.D. and Ph.D. degree. Candidates with an M.D. must have demonstrated the ability to practice medicine, particularly oncology. Candidates must be board eligible in their primary specialty, board eligible for sub‑specialty certification, and license eligible in the State of Texas. A minimum of five years of post‑degree experience in any combination of clinician, clinical scientist, or GME trainee roles (excluding specialties with shorter residencies or fellowships) is required.

Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to scholarly activity and evidence of scientific accomplishments, excellent writing and communication skills (peer‑reviewed publications, presentations at professional meetings), and the ability to obtain extramural funding for translational research. MD Anderson Cancer Center offers many opportunities within a growing, vibrant research, clinical, and training environment.

The salary range is $300,000–$392,069 and will be based on the applicant’s qualifications and experience. Please send a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, names and addresses of three to five references, and a brief summary of past research accomplishments and future research plans to Kim Corbett, MBA, Department Administrator, at KACorbett.
