This one-year postdoctoral fellowship offers an opportunity to engage in highly translational and clinically integrated research focused on the immune microenvironment of rare sarcoma subtypes. The postdoctoral fellow will work at the interface of laboratory and clinical investigation, leveraging patient-derived samples and clinical datasets to characterize immune signatures, identify biomarkers of response, and inform therapeutic strategies.

The position emphasizes close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, pathologists, and computational scientists, with the goal of advancing precision immuno-oncology approaches in rare sarcomas.

All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Characterize the immune microenvironment of rare sarcoma subtypes using multimodal approaches (e.g., tissue-based assays, transcriptomics, and spatial profiling).
  • Identify and validate biomarkers associated with treatment response, resistance, and clinical outcomes.
  • Integrate clinical, pathological, and molecular data to generate clinically relevant hypotheses and translational insights.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of translational components of ongoing and prospective clinical trials.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including clinicians, pathologists, and computational scientists, to advance precision immuno-oncology strategies.
  • Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • MD or equivalent medical degree (international graduates eligible); prior residency or fellowship training in oncology, pathology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated interest in translational and/or clinical research, particularly in oncology or immunology.
  • Foundational understanding of clinical research methodology, with the ability to read and interpret scientific literature.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
