A postdoctoral fellow position is available for Pancreas Research in the department of Surgical Oncology. The Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is a one to five-year research fellowship dedicated to the advanced training of fellows focusing on research related to surgical oncology diseases. The goal of the fellowship is to train, and education select fellows in advanced research of multidisciplinary treatment and surgery for challenging disorders and malignancies.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The postdoctoral fellow learning objectives will be the following:

Identify steps in publishing surgical educational research.

Utilize needs assessment to develop novel surgical education materials.

Utilize on-line educational platforms to disseminate educational materials.

Participate in active IRB protocols in surgical oncology research.

Work closely with and observe HPB fellows/trainees in their research projects.

Learn the process of navigating institutional review board applications.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The candidate should have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree in Medicine, Biology, Molecular Biology, or Genetics. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication; effective judgment and problem solving, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a solid foundation in genetically engineered animal models, microscopy and biochemistry. Expertise in Excel, and other bioinformatics analysis software; strong attention to detail, multi-tasking;

and a willingness to learn new technologies.
