A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the clinical research program of Jason

A. Mouabbi, MD in the Department of Breast Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The program focuses on clinical research in lobular breast cancer, including retrospective and prospective studies, collaboration with database and biostatistician teams, protocol development, scientific communication, and translational studies aimed at improving outcomes for patients with lobular breast cancer. The postdoctoral fellow will have opportunities to submit posters to major conferences (e.g., ASCO, SABCS) and lead efforts to write and publish manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.

All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Gain expertise in the design and execution of retrospective and prospective clinical research studies in lobular breast cancer.
  • Develop proficiency in data extraction, statistical analysis, literature reviews, and integration of clinical findings.
  • Prepare and submit abstracts and posters to major oncology conferences (e.g., ASCO, SABCS).
  • Lead the writing and publication of manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Acquire the necessary skills for writing grant proposals in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
  • Develop competence in ensuring compliance with institutional review board (IRB) requirements and data privacy standards.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have a recent PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree in biomedical science, oncology, or a related field. Candidates with a Medical Doctor degree and fellowship training in oncology are highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least two first-authored publications in internationally peer-reviewed scientific journals in one or more of the following areas: clinical oncology, cancer biology, epidemiology, or translational research.

Experience in clinical research techniques including data analysis, protocol development, statistical methods, and scientific communication is required. Proficiency with relevant software, databases, and electronic data capture systems is expected. The candidate needs to be self-motivated, conscientious, and a team player with a strong work ethic, have critical thinking abilities, and good communication, organizational and writing skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

POSITION

INFORMATION

MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
