Medical Science Liaison, Hematology Oncology – Texas

Territory:

What You Will Do
  • Interact with Oncology Healthcare Decision Makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform aligned with Amgen's goals, particularly prostate cancer.
  • Communicate complex scientific information and research concepts to healthcare decision makers, including Academic Medical Centers.
  • Conduct clinical and pharmacoeconomic value discussions with payers and formulary decision makers.
  • Identify and train members of Amgen’s speakers’ bureau on new data.
  • Respond to requests for investigator-sponsored research proposals.
  • Support Amgen-sponsored research.
  • Provide scientific support for commercial, corporate accounts, and matrix colleagues receiving HCP inquiries.
  • Foster scientific relationships with fellows in training.
  • Lead or participate on committees or project teams supporting MSL strategies and tactics as delegated by leadership.
  • Mentor other MSLs as designated.
  • Seek opportunities to support the MSL value proposition and demonstrate Amgen values and leadership attributes.
  • Demonstrate tact and professionalism in communication and interactions.
  • Model openness and innovation through words, actions, and decisions.
Basic Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree
  • Or Master’s degree and 3 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • Or Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Medical Affairs experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pharm.

    D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)
  • 3+ years of experience in a medically related field, including at least one year focused on clinical practice, research, or medical research; postdoctoral training (residency/fellowship) counts.
  • Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
  • Expertise in Oncology and/or Hematology therapeutic areas.
