About Houston‑Galveston Area Council

What will I be doing?
  • Conducting project and regional level transportation conformity Air Quality analysis impacted by transportation improvement projects.
  • Supporting processes tied to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), especially concerning travel demand and air quality conformity.
  • Preparing and analyzing air quality emission reduction benefits for regional projects submitted for the transportation improvement program.
  • Conducting detailed analysis of air quality emission reductions using the EPA‑required MOVES software.
  • Conducting data analysis utilizing mathematical, statistical, and other qualitative methods.
Key Qualifications
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization software: MOVES and GIS
  • Knowledge of Air pollution analysis.
  • Knowledge of Conformity Determination
Do you have…
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
  • 5years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school, or in job‑related duties
Preferred qualifications
  • Master’s degree in (urban) planning, transportation engineering or a related field of study.
  • Familiarity with MOVES.
  • We are looking for a candidate that is willing to learn new skills in a fast‑paced environment.
