Overview

The Environmental Associate is responsible for supporting environmental compliance activities within the plant, including environmental inspections, sampling activities, air and water program support, waste handling, waste management, auditing, data collection, recordkeeping, and reporting. This position assists with the collection and development of data for permit applications, permit compliance, agency notifications, emissions inventory reporting, Title V reporting and recordkeeping, and other general environmental compliance activities as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Support air project authorization activities, including data collection, file maintenance, documentation review, and related compliance tasks.
  • Assist with release reporting and agency notification requirements.
  • Generate, organize, and maintain data for emissions inventory reporting.
  • Support Title V reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Serve as backup support for waste activities, including organizing shipments, labels, collection, tracking, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate routine permit-required lab samples, including SWPP, TPDES, air, water, and waste sampling needs.
  • Coordinate non-scheduled lab samples, including waste analysis required for TCEQ waste profiling requirements.
Experience required
  • Experience supporting air program management in an industrial, manufacturing, chemical, refinery, plant, or similar operating environment.
  • Experience with air project authorization support, including data collection, file maintenance, and documentation review.
  • Experience supporting release reporting requirements and related environmental documentation.
  • Experience generating, compiling, and validating data for emissions inventory reporting.
  • Experience with Title V reporting and recordkeeping activities.
  • Experience coordinating waste profiling, waste reporting, shipments, labeling, collection and tracking.
  • Experience coordinating wastewater discharge monitoring report sample collection and report preparation is preferred.
Required
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Sustainability, or a related field.
Plus
  • HAZWOPER training for spill response and manifesting is a plus.
  • Waste and wastewater program management experience is a plus.
