- Support geologic and hydrogeologic investigations for environmental restoration and emerging contaminants projects
- Work with geologists, engineers, and field technicians on drilling, monitoring well installation, sampling, monitoring, and site inspections
- Provide technical support to Project Managers
- Lead geologic and hydrogeologic investigations with minimal oversight
- Direct staff geologists, engineers, field technicians, and subcontractors during field investigations
- Oversee well drilling and installation, environmental investigations, and remediation efforts
- Log soil samples and drill cuttings
- Prepare soil boring logs and well construction records
- Support well-construction design based on lithologic findings
- Conduct aquifer testing to determine aquifer characteristics
- Prepare reports covering geology, hydrogeology, contamination, and contaminant fate and transport
- Support procurement activities, including coordinating with drilling subcontractors, preparing purchase orders, and reviewing invoices
- Support development of in situ and ex situ groundwater treatment alternatives
- Lead groundwater, soil, sediment, and surface water sampling for laboratory analysis
- Ensure fieldwork is completed safely and on schedule
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Minimum 3 years of overseeing and implementing safety programs for fieldwork
- Minimum 1–2 years of prior experience as a Field Lead
- Responsible for field staff, subcontractors, and completing on-site work safely and on schedule
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Organizational skills and ability to plan and manage multiple tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple assignments at various locations
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to obtain clearance to access military bases and other federal government installations
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
- Prior experience working on federal government projects preferred
- Experience with HTRW, PFAS contamination, other emerging contaminants, and environmental compliance preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology or Hydrogeology from an accredited institution
- Professional Geologist (PG) or Registered Professional Geologist (RPG) certification or equivalent from at least one US State
- ASBOG registration preferred
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current annual 8-hour update preferred
- OSHA 30 Hour Construction certification preferred; training may be provided
- Ability and willingness to travel to job sites, client meetings, and conferences
- Ability to travel typically 75% or more annually within the United States
- Ability to work outdoors in uneven terrain and variable conditions
- Ability to perform fieldwork including long-distance walking, ladder climbing, and carrying equipment
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, stand, walk, operate vehicles, use hand tools, and lift equipment
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
- Good near and far vision, corrected to 20/40
- Ability to work in a hybrid remote arrangement with prolonged desk and computer work
Demonstrates expertise in geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, including oversight of field staff and subcontractors, while ensuring compliance with safety programs and environmental regulations. Proficient in preparing technical reports and managing multiple projects effectively.
