Physical Security Specialist Security Clearance

Position: PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* Assists in developing local Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) programs and policies for the Antiterrorism and Force Protection Planner and the Antiterrorism Officer's approval
* Supports the AT/FP Planner on matters involving Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) issues. Coordinates on force protection processes, assessments, and activities across the installation on behalf of the AT/FP Planner and the installation ATO.
* Assists with site security studies, projects, assessments, and training activities in relationship to anti-terrorism and force protection requirements. Assists in integrating various aspects of anti-terrorism, integrated defense, physical security, and force protection to resolve conventional security problems. Requirements Conditions of employment

* The certification requirement assigned to this position may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
* May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* The duties of this position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation, and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency (cont'd...)
* or office to function effectively. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve (IAW: Do DI 1200. 7, Screening the Ready Reserve).
* This is a Mission Essential position performing a Mission Critical Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. IAW, DoDI 3020-42 Defense Continuity Programs. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of practical security specialties to identify and resolve conventional policy and program objectives, and procedures within the security functional area. Extensive knowledge in the specialized fields of physical security, force protection, and anti-terrorism.

Knowledge of DoD, USAF, and MAJCOM policy requirements, which are used to formulate an integrated program which meets regulatory requirements and reduces vulnerabilities. Knowledge of security policy requirements and procedures to provide recommendations for making decisions and policy development on short and long-term security planning. Knowledge of AT/FP construction standards to assess installation construction projects. OR

Education:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
