Armed Security Officer (Houston Regional Office)
Pay: $18 per hour, 7 days a week (5:00 pm-9:00 pm).
The Security Officer is responsible for providing security services at assigned locations with a focus on observing and reporting. Duties include monitoring all activity, conducting foot, vehicular, golf cart, and bicycle patrols of interior and exterior areas; reporting suspicious activities; writing detailed narrative reports; maintaining daily activity reports (DAR’s); enforcing post orders, site rules, regulations, policies, procedures; and responding to emergency situations requiring security assistance.
Position Overview & Scope- Conduct regular and random patrols of the interior and perimeter of the facility and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Be able to walk long distances, sit or stand for long periods, and kneel or bend to look into tight spaces, with or without accommodation.
- Execute security services as outlined in the Post Order Manual and associated policy and procedural guidelines and as directed by SMSSI Management.
- Conduct walking and vehicular patrols of building/facility (or assigned areas within or outside the building/facility), including golf cart and bicycle patrols.
- Identify and report security threats, unsafe conditions or hazards, and other emergency situations.
- Perform site‑specific duties such as customer service, loss prevention, retail security, lobby/visitor reception, freight elevator security, loading dock security, and other safety and security roles.
- Write detailed, accurate, and legible incident reports during shift, including any unusual activities and resolution actions; contact appropriate individuals per site post orders.
- Know all site‑specific policies and procedures, and implement emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Follow all company procedures, maintain acceptable attendance, and adhere to grooming and customer service standards.
- Participate in all company and site‑required orientation and training programs.
- Respond to any incidents in accordance with the Post Orders and the Company’s Use of Force Policy, ensuring appropriate action and timely notification of parties.
- Conduct security, customer service, or support functions as directed by the supervisor or in support of client requests.
High School Diploma
GED or H.S. Equivalent
Certification RequirementsTexas Level 3
