Job Description Position Summary
The Loss Prevention Specialist is responsible for protecting company assets by reducing shrink, preventing theft, and ensuring a safe store environment. This role supports store operations through proactive loss prevention practices, investigations, and compliance monitoring while maintaining professionalism and customer respect.
Key Responsibilities Asset Protection & Shrink Reduction- Monitor store activity to identify and prevent theft, fraud, and policy violations
- Conduct both overt and covert surveillance of high‑risk areas
- Investigate incidents of internal and external theft
- Support execution of shrink reduction initiatives and store safety programs
- Ensure a safe environment for customers and associates
- Identify potential safety risks and report concerns to leadership
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures and emergency protocols
- Assist in emergency response situations as needed
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and asset protection standards
- Conduct audits of cash handling, inventory, and operational processes
- Document incidents accurately and maintain proper records and reports
- Partner with store leadership on corrective actions and process improvements
- Collaborate with store leadership to promote awareness of loss prevention practices
- Provide guidance and training to associates on theft prevention and safety
- Support a culture of accountability and integrity throughout the store
- Maintain a professional presence when interacting with customers and associates
- Coordinate with law enforcement when necessary in accordance with company policy
- Handle sensitive situations with discretion and sound judgment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous loss prevention, security, or retail experience preferred
- Strong observation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the store
- Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods
- Ability to respond quickly to incidents when needed

Pay Transparency and BenefitsStarting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on location, experience, qualifications, and applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Depending on length of service, hours worked, applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, paid holidays, paid time off, bereavement, retirement benefits, and other corporate benefits.
Associates may be eligible for a quarterly bonus subject to company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
* For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7–9 days annually.
