Summary

The Lead Coordinator, Security is responsible for overseeing 24/7 security operations across Baylor College of Medicine facilities, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and institutional policies. This role responds to both emergency and non-emergency incidents, monitors surveillance systems, and makes real-time decisions to maintain a safe and secure environment for faculty, staff, learners, and visitors. The Coordinator provides guidance, assistance, and training to security personnel while supporting day-to-day operations, including escort services when needed.

Additional responsibilities include performing other job-related duties as assigned to support the overall safety mission of the institution.

Job Duties
  • Closely monitors security cameras, responds to calls, and ensures prompt response to all emergency and medical reports.
  • Triages response to security and safety concerns to team members for assistance; follows up as needed for final remedy or resolution.
  • Follows established processes to resolve security issues.
  • Provides courteous customer service to BCM Community Members.
  • Delegates to team members and provides security shift operation supervision as requested by department leadership.
  • Provides assistance and training to junior employees.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Six years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in law enforcement.
