Security Officer II, Salary: $20.26 - $24.43

Responsible for patrolling, protecting, and securing all Harris Health System buildings and grounds, promoting safety and security at all locations. Responds to crisis intervention team activations, prevents patient elopements, and assists medical staff with restraint of patients as requested.

  High School Diploma or GED.
• Licenses &
  
  Certifications:
  
  IAHSS Basic Security Officer Training Program must be completed within six months of employment.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Basic Life Support from a hospital-based AHA program.
• Aggression Management certification or equivalent required within 30 days; if other certification held, must recertify as Aggression Management upon expiration.
• TPSB III:
  Must be registered by the Texas Private Security Bureau within 90 days of employment.

One (1) year experience in security, criminal justice, military, healthcare, or related experience; or a combination of the above.

Above average verbal (heavy public contract) and writing/reports.

MS Word, PC, typing 20 WPM.

• Work schedule:
  
  weekends, holidays, flexible, overtime.
• Other requirements: E‑1 availability during disaster situations; must understand English and communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
• Proficiency in the use of computers is required.
• Equipment operated: PC-based electronic access control, CCTV, parking systems, handheld radio systems, and patrol vehicle.
