Job DescriptionSecurity Officer Armed Clearance Required Checkpoint – Houston, TX. As a part‑time Security Officer you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government. Your role will involve monitoring entry points, managing access control activities, and conducting routine patrols as an armed post. You will deter security‑related incidents, support a professional environment through strong communication and customer service, and uphold Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.
Position Type: Part Time
Pay Rate: $18.84 / Hour
Job Schedule- Saturday: 06:00 PM – 06:00 AM
- Sunday: 06:00 PM – 06:00 AM
- Provide customer service by following site‑specific access control procedures, verifying credentials, and documenting visitor and contractor entry and exit activity at a government location.
- Monitor entry points, help to deter unauthorized access, and communicate with staff and/or visitors regarding identification requirements, prohibited items, and posted rules.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, and report security‑related concerns through appropriate channels.
- Operate access control systems, maintain accurate logs and records, and support badge, key, and/or credential accountability in accordance with site policies.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured access points, and other security‑related issues.
- Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security‑related experience, or a college degree.
- Possess an active DoD Confidential clearance.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
- Possess 5+ years of security‑related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
