Job SummaryResponsible for patrolling, protecting, and securing all Harris Health System's buildings and grounds, promoting safety and security at all locations. Responds to all crisis intervention team activations, prevents patient elopements, and assists medical staff with restraint of patients as requested. Serves as assigned mucus Officer in designated hospital areas. Work requires a continuously high level of awareness in the milieu in order to react promptly and effectively to emergencies, and visual acuity in order to detect suspicious activities.
Work requires ability to physically intervene in medical and behavioral emergencies. Work also requires exposure to risk of physical injury by assaultive patients.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Certifications:- Valid Texas Driver's License
- TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement) Basic Peace Officer Certification or TPSB (Texas Private Security Bureau) Level III Certification required at point of hire
- CPR training within six months of employment
- IAHSS Basic Security Officer Training Program within six months of employment
- Aggression Management within six months of employment
- Must be registered by the Texas Private Security Bureau within 90 days of employment.
- TPSB Level IV Certification preferred
- Work Experience: Three (3) years of security, criminal justice, military, or healthcare experience, or a combination thereof. Five (5) years of healthcare security or behavioral health experience preferred.

Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact) and Writing/Reports. - Proficiencies: P.C. Typing; 20-29 wpm, MS Word.
