Job Skills / Requirements Part-Time Security Officer – Shopping Center PatrolUnited Protective Services is seeking a professional and dependable Part-Time Security Officer for a neighborhood shopping center. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy being active, maintaining a visible security presence, and helping ensure a safe environment for businesses, customers, and tenants.
Schedule- Friday: 7:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Saturday: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
The Security Officer will conduct highly visible exterior foot patrols throughout the shopping center while monitoring for suspicious activity, criminal behavior, trespassing, loitering, and other property concerns. Officers are expected to maintain a professional presence while providing exceptional customer service to tenants and visitors.
Responsibilities- Conduct regular foot patrols of the shopping center and parking areas
- Monitor for suspicious persons, criminal activity, safety hazards, and property damage
- Identify and address issues involving trespassing, loitering, and homeless individuals in accordance with company policy
- Serve as a visible deterrent to theft, vandalism, and other criminal activity
- Interact professionally with customers, tenants, vendors, and property management
- Report incidents, maintenance concerns, and security issues promptly
- Complete daily activity reports and incident reports as required
- Observe and report all unusual or suspicious activity
- Assist law enforcement and emergency personnel when necessary
- Active Texas Security License (or ability to obtain one)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to walk and patrol outdoors for extended periods
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Reliable transportation and attendance
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Observant and proactive
- Comfortable working independently
