Security Officer II-Day-LBJ

Job Summary

Responsible for patrolling, protecting, and securing all Harris Health System's buildings and grounds, promoting safety and security at all locations. Responds to all crisis intervention team activations, prevents patient elopements, and assists medical staff with restraint of patients as requested.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• IAHSS Basic Security Officer Training Program completed within six months of employment.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Basic Life Support from a hospital-based AHA program.
• Aggression Management certification or equivalent within 30 days; if another certification is held, must be recertified as Aggression Management upon expiration.
• Registered by the Texas Private Security Bureau (TPSB III) within 90 days of employment.

One (1) year of experience in security, criminal justice, military, healthcare, or related field; or a combination of the above.

Above‑average verbal communication; heavy public contract; writing/reports.

MS Word, PC, typing 20 WPM.

• Work Schedule:
  
  Weekends, holidays, flexible, overtime.
• Other Requirements: E‑1 availability during disaster situations. Must understand and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Computer proficiency required.
• Equipment Operated: PC-based electronic access control, CCTV, parking systems, handheld radio systems, and patrol vehicle.
