This is a full-time, on-site role for a Fleet Mechanic based in Houston, TX. Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment and vehicles to ensure operational reliability, safety, and efficiency. The Fleet Mechanic will diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot problems, and collaborate with team members to ensure timely resolutions. Additional duties may involve conducting inspections, documenting services performed, and upholding organizational standards for fleet management.
This position requires working in alignment with safety protocols at all times.
- Proficiency in Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, and general Maintenance & Repair tasks
- Experience working with Heavy Equipment and handling related mechanical systems
- Strong ability in Troubleshooting mechanical and technical issues
- Knowledge of fleet management and maintenance-related safety standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
- Relevant certifications in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment repair are a plus
- Previous experience in the construction or paving industry is preferred
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; advanced mechanical training or coursework is advantageous
