Mustang Cat is hiring for Diesel & Natural Gas Industrial Power Technician – Shop & Field Roles. This opportunity is for skilled Industrial Power Technicians in both shop and field service roles, including Engine Rebuild Mechanic and Senior Diesel Engine Mechanic paths.
Mustang Cat is actively hiring for Industrial Power Technicians to service diesel and natural gas power systems used across critical infrastructure throughout Texas.
What You’ll Do as an Industrial Power TechnicianAs a Diesel & Natural Gas Industrial Engine Technician, you’ll perform comprehensive maintenance and repair on industrial engine systems. From diagnostics to reconditioning and component testing, you’ll be essential to powering our customers’ success.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform engine disassembly, reassembly, and precision reconditioning
- Conduct diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and technical analysis
- Remove and install industrial engines and generator sets
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and hydraulic systems
- Conduct failure analysis and testing to ensure peak performance
- Work independently or as part of a team in both shop and field environments

- Must own proper tools to perform necessary repairs
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree or technical certification preferred
- Previous mechanic or military experience working on engine systems
- In-depth knowledge of engine, hydraulic, and electronic components
- Strong technical, mechanical, and troubleshooting abilities
