Overview

This role is responsible for preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and rapid turnaround for Class 8 tractors and trailers in a growing, high-utilization fleet. Our trucks are equipped with ADS sensors and computing units, so the ideal technician is comfortable working around sensitive hardware and following established procedures to avoid damage or contamination. Experience doing basic ADS physical checks and first-line troubleshooting is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Perform PMs and safety inspections; address DVIR/DOT defects quickly.
  • Diagnose and repair tractor systems, including air systems, brakes, cooling, electrical, suspension/steering, driveline, and aftertreatment (as applicable).
  • Diagnose and repair trailer systems, including air leaks/brakes/ABS, lighting/wiring, landing gear, doors, and general safety items.
  • Maintain clear, accurate work orders and history: symptom → root cause → repair → verification.
  • Coordinate vendors for tires, alignments, welding, and major repairs.
  • Support parts management and basic stocking of common wear items.
  • Operate with an uptime mindset (fast triage, safe return-to-service) and communicate status/ETAs to Ops and Dispatch.
  • Ability to follow OEM procedures and use OEM diagnostic tools.
  • Basic first-line ADS checks (visual inspection, connector reseat per procedure, fuse/power/ground checks) and proper escalation when needed.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years Class 8 tractor and trailer maintenance experience (fleet or dealership).
  • Strong skills in PM execution, electrical troubleshooting, air systems and brakes.
  • Compliance with documentation and shop safety/OSHA practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OEM/ASE certifications and/or DOT brake inspection experience.
  • Experience in 24/7 or high-utilization fleets.
  • Prior exposure to ADAS and/or ADS hardware.
