Engine Rebuild Mechanic – Shop & Field Opportunities
(Engine Rebuild Mechanic | Diesel Engine Technician | Generator Technician | Industrial Engine Repair)
Mustang Cat is actively hiring experienced Engine Rebuild Mechanics for both shop and field service roles. If you're a hands‑on diesel engine technician or a skilled generator technician with a passion for high‑performance engines, this role offers long‑term career growth in the industrial engine repair field.
What You’ll Do as an Engine Rebuild MechanicAs an Engine Rebuild Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in disassembling, repairing, and restoring diesel and natural gas industrial engines. You’ll work on power systems that support vital infrastructure and industries throughout Texas.
Responsibilities include:
- Disassemble, inspect, and recondition diesel and natural gas engines
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
- Remove and install engines and generator systems
- Test and adjust components for optimal performance
- Conduct technical analysis and failure diagnosis
- Work independently in the shop or at customer sites using a field service truck
- Must own proper tools to perform necessary repairs
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree or certificate from a technical school preferred
- Previous mechanic or military experience
- Knowledge of electronic, hydraulic, and engine systems
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical problems independently
