Job Summary

Working for the Commercial Markets Division
, the EVC-Electrical Technician I is critical to the day-to-day execution of our projects, including but not limited to understanding basic electrical functions, installation and troubleshooting of electric vehicle charger stations, electrical infrastructure, and lighting systems and components; keeping the job site safe, organized, and running smoothly. This position requires high attention to detail and accuracy as well as very clear and proactive communication skills, both with internal teammates, customers, as well as the public.

Tech I Responsibilities
  • Obtain an understanding of project scope from supervisor including any available plans or documents.
  • Verify material requirements and develop installation plan for project and communicate the plan to all installers.
  • Perform EV charger pinpointing and commissioning with product manufacturer.
  • Field installation of project scope ensuring all work is performed according to the appropriate compliance and is completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide regular and timely project information to the Lead Technician or Supervisor.
  • Assist Lead Tech with job resources and project information.
  • Responsible for all aspects of EV service including installation, replacement, troubleshooting, circuits, tracing underground electrical circuits.
  • Be able to perform job tasks with minimal to no supervision.
Tech I Qualifications
  • 3-5 years or more of commercial and residential electrical experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • State Electrical Apprentice preferred.
  • Be able to get a journeyman license after working required hours.
  • Adhere to safety policy as well as rules and regulations.
  • Maintain active driver’s license with a clean record and have reliable transportation to report to various job locations.
Work Environment and

Physical Requirements
  • Able to move or lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Able to withstand varying temperatures typical in an outdoor environment.
  • Position spends significant amount of time sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Position may require climbing of ladders and/or working from heights.
  • Position requires dexterity for handling materials and operating equipment.
  • Position requires 80% travel to regional projects and to other states, overnight and extended periods of time, based on business needs.
  • Position may also involve prolonged periods of driving and being on the road.
  • Ability to comply with and wear required Protective Personal Equipment (PPE).
