Key Responsibilities

This position is responsible for ensuring that all company hoisting policies and procedures are enforced in the field while providing continuous support to the projects. The candidate will assist the senior‑most crane superintendent in consulting with the project team on all hoisting mobilizations, jumps, and demobilizations of hoisting equipment, and will lead hoisting pre‑con coordination meetings when assigned.

  • Assist the senior‑most crane superintendent in crane/hoisting planning, safety, operations and oversight of all crane and hoisting activities in the field.
  • Assist the senior‑most crane superintendent in crane/hoisting utilization, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Prepare required crane reporting, including daily reports of hoisting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies & procedures.
  • Assist the senior‑most crane superintendent in recruitment and training of crane operators.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the senior‑most superintendent in identifying crane/hoisting needs for projects.
  • Review drawings to assist in selecting efficient, safe and cost‑effective hoisting plans. Assist in scheduling pre‑con coordination meetings with vendors and the project team in advance of erecting, jumping, and demobilization activities.
  • Ensure safety on hoisting activities for all projects: oversee critical lift planning meetings, ensure compliance with all governmental safety programs and company initiatives, conduct annual crane and hoist inspections, wire rope inspections and replacement parameters, finish crane and safety training, and complete NCCCO certifications for all operators.
  • Collaborate with the senior‑most superintendent and safety department on safety initiatives.
  • Ensure that crane/hoisting needs of the field are met safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain all cranes according to company policy, including communication with service personnel on repair priorities.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records and required reporting on crane, man and material hoisting activities, including cable replacement, compliance reports (PM, hook, drop tests, and annual inspections), maintenance priority checklist, operator authorization list, and equipment records.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate and division policies and procedures as they relate to hoisting operations in the field.
