Job Summary
As a Trailer Technician II, you'll perform mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting, and most repairs and replacements and preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions- Performs mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Performs mid-range to advanced welding
- Performs most repairs, preventative maintenance, and replacements in assigned specific classification
- Operates with most tools, including pneumatic
- Usually works independently on repair orders
- Provides some training and assistance to other Techs
- Performs major trailer repairs
- Performs various welding
- Diagnoses/repairs ABS brakes; diagnoses air brake systems
- Repairs/replaces suspension systems, vertical post and sheet metal paneling, and overhead swing doors
- Completes brakes jobs
- Performs sheet metal fabricating
- Performs Trailer Tech I duties

Qualifications& Key Requirements Work Experience
- of experience as a mechanic -
- Proficiency in electrical theory -
- Cutting / welding skills -
- Ability to read schematic diagrams, including electrical
- Ability to perform intermediate repairs -
- Ability to train and develop other Techs -
- or equivalent -
- Current CDL -
- Current DOT certification -
- OEM certification in brakes -
- structural repair -
- overhead door -
- suspension -
- and electrical -
- Third-party tire certification -
- Welding certification -
- Completion of third-party training -
- Work in a team environment
- Lift 100 lbs and carry a distance of 5 ft
- Work sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and in a prone position
- Work with hands over head
- Climb; work from a ladder
- Meet H-E-B driving qualifications
- Possess / maintain required tools
- Obtain DOT certification within 1 year of hire
- Work toward ASE certifications T4, T5, T6, and T8
