This is a full‑time, on‑site Elevator Technician role based in Houston, TX. The Elevator Technician will install, maintain, and repair elevators, escalators, lifts, and related vertical transportation equipment in commercial and residential settings. Daily responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, conducting safety inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and completing necessary adjustments and component replacements. The role also involves responding to service calls, diagnosing system failures, documenting work performed, and communicating clearly with customers and team members.
The technician will follow all safety regulations, company procedures, and applicable codes while collaborating with supervisors and other technicians to ensure reliable, safe operation of all equipment.
- Strong experience with elevators and related vertical transportation systems, including installation and field service for a variety of equipment types.
- Knowledge in troubleshooting skills for diagnosing mechanical and control issues in systems.
- Working knowledge of electricity as it applies to elevator systems, including reading wiring diagrams and using electrical test equipment safely.
- Familiarity with relevant safety standards, building codes, and industry regulations.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, test instruments, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical, trade, or apprenticeship program in elevator technology, electrical, or mechanical fields is preferred.
- Previous field experience as an elevator technician, maintenance mechanic, or similar role in building systems is highly beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to customer sites within the Houston area.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team in a safety‑focused environment.
