Position: Pipe Fitter I
Audubon is currently seeking a Pipefitter I to join our team in our Off Site Office. The Pipefitter I performs skilled fabrication, assembly, installation, construction, and maintenance of piping through plan interpretation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Selects size and type of pipe and related material according to job specifications.

* Inspects work sites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes will not cause structural weakness.

* Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions with pipe spools.

* Cuts and threads; assembles and installs a variety of metal and nonmetal pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass and plastic; joins pipe by means of threaded, Caulk, solder, braze, fuse or cement joints; secures pipe to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers; installs and maintains refrigeration and air-conditioning systems including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls and piping;

test piping system for leaks.

* Will also bolt and torque flanges, to perform test and ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.

* Spend time on job and can be transferred to another job as project progresses.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

* All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:

* Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety

* Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities

* Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions

* Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

* Related trade school education is preferred.

* Five years' experience in the construction industry.

* Five years' experience pipe fitting.

* Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.

* Construction safety practices.

* In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.

* Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.

* Excellent organizational skills.

* Ability to communicate and report effectively.

* Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.

* Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

* Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.

* Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.

* Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.

* Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.

* Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
