Conduct structural repairs and modifications in accordance with IICL, ISO, and depot repair standards.

Use cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools to remove damaged parts and prepare surfaces for welding.

Read and interpret repair estimates, work orders, technical drawings, and container damage reports.

Work closely with container inspectors and supervisors to ensure repairs meet quality and safety criteria.

Maintain a clean and organized welding bay and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Perform pre- and post-weld inspections to ensure repair accuracy and container readiness for use.

Maintain logs of work performed and complete repair documentation for reporting and auditing.

Comply with all offshore and workshop safety protocols, including confined space and hot work procedures.

Participate in daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and equipment maintenance checks.

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience as a welder in a heavy industrial, maritime, or container repair environment.

Proficiency in SMAW (stick), FCAW (flux core), and MIG welding techniques.

Valid welding certification(s) (e.g., AWS, ASME, or equivalent).

Familiarity with container structure, repair codes, and materials (e.g., Corten steel).

Ability to read and understand repair estimates and structural drawings.

Strong understanding of offshore safety practices and container depot operations.

Physically fit and capable of working in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

IICL or depot-specific repair training/certification.

Offshore certifications such as BOSIET, HUET, H2S, and Medical Fit-to-Work.

Experience working in offshore or marine environments.

Basic knowledge of oxy-fuel cutting and plasma arc cutting.

Forklift or crane operation experience (for moving containers or parts).

Exposure to welding fumes, heat, noise, and physically demanding tasks.

PPE required at all times, including welding helmet, gloves, flame-resistant clothing, and safety boots.

Work may involve confined spaces and/or heights.
