Kilgore Industries, one of Texas's largest Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing subcontractors is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Welder to join our willing team.
Qualifications- Weld and fabricate pipe systems for commercial and industrial applications, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and project specifications to determine welding requirements.
- Perform 1G MIG and FCAW (Mig root, Fluxcore fill and cap) welding techniques on various types of pipes and materials.
- Prepare pipes, fittings, and other materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning.
- Ensure all welds meet quality standards and comply with safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections of welding work to ensure accuracy and proper alignment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any welding issues that may arise during the project.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial pipe welding fabrication shop.
- Proficient in 1G MIG and FCAW (Mig root, Fluxcore fill and cap) welding techniques, as well as various pipe welding processes.
- Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with various pipe materials (stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloys).
- Valid welding certification (e.g., AWS, ASME) preferred.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment welding test.
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification is a plus.
