We are seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team in a fast-paced metals recycling environment. In this role, you will operate a hydraulic crane to safely and efficiently move scrap metal throughout the yard. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently to complete daily operational tasks.

- Operate a hydraulic crane to load and unload scrap metal materials, including bales, bins, boxes, crates, and other containers
- Load and unload materials from customer trailers, truck beds, bins, and other transport equipment
- Transfer materials safely and efficiently from one location to another within the yard
- Collect and manage any falling or displaced materials during transfer operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by removing debris and potential hazards
- Follow all site safety procedures, operational guidelines, and company protocols
- Maintain accurate service logs and perform required equipment checks and maintenance documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support yard operations
- OSHA or safety certification preferred (not required)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with scrap metal materials and commodities is a plus
- Ability to perform all physical, mental, and environmental job functions
- Comfort working in all weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain
- Strong time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2+ years of consecutive crane operating experience required
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind)
- May be exposed to moving mechanical equipment and heavy industrial activity
- Noise levels may be high; hearing protection is required
- Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and physical movement required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Work may include confined spaces and other industrial conditions requiring PPE
