Primoris Energy Services is currently seeking experienced Pipe fitters for ongoing and upcoming project(s) across Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining piping systems while working safely and efficiently as part of a skilled crew. Job description and duties for pipe fitting across steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems.
Responsibilities- Lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and maintains piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems.
- General machine and site tasks to support project execution and safety rules.
- Safely use hand and power tools; report to and assist immediate supervisor; perform quality work as determined by project specifications; account for all tools and materials at the end of your shift; work well as part of a team.
- Functional requirements: select size and type of pipe and related material and equipment according to job specifications; inspect worksite to avoid structural weaknesses; plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and interference with other workers; cut, thread, and bend pipe; mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings; assemble and install a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings;
join pipe using threaded, caulked, soldering, brazing, fused, or cemented joints; install and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems; test piping systems for leaks; secure pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers; welds pipe supports to structural steel members; observe production machines to detect malfunctions or verify repairs (if certified); assist in lifting, positioning, and securing material during installation;
perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools/equipment; respiratory protection may be required; other duties as assigned.
- 1–4 years of experience in pipe fitting (depending on mechanic level).
- Successful completion of craft test.
- Pass post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation and background check.
- Ability to meet client job site safety requirements (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. (assistance recommended for heavier loads).
- Stand/walk for long periods and work extended hours on uneven surfaces.
- Climb ladders, scaffolds, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Wear respirator and other PPE as required.
- Industrial construction site.
- Exposure to outdoor elements (heat, cold, rain, humidity).
- Noise levels from tools and equipment.
