Performs daily maintenance of the university fire alarm system. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Monitor, inspect and service fire alarm systems.
- Performs preventative maintenance on all fire alarm systems.
- Troubleshoots problems and repairs fire alarm systems.
- Installs and relocates devices on campus due to building remodeling.
- Participates in fire alarm testing.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required. Department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience.
- Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

Requires specialized training in basic trades, principles, procedures, practice, routines or techniques in a specific area or trade which might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level. Vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronic equipment may be required. Education verification will be conducted upon acceptance of an employment offer. - All positions at the University of Houston‑System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check.
