BICSI Certified Technician

Founded over 40 years ago, our client has become a national leader in electrical and low voltage installations & service. Headquartered right here in Texas and with locations across the country they provide commercial Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Networking Cabling, Fiber optic, and Audio-visual, and building controls, for some of the largest new construction and retro fit facilities in the nation.

• Perform installation of low voltage category cabling, such as CAT6, CAT6a, CAT8, fiber optic, and distributed antenna systems.
• Read building prints and pull cable throughout commercial building infrastructure.
• Install wireless access points, 110/66 block patch panels, wall face plates, keystone jacks, and RJ45 connectors.
• Install support structures such as J-Hooks, cable trey, ladder racks, and other equipment used to install communication cabling.
• Perform installations including dressing and routing of cable into telecommunications closets, modular furniture, and other work area outlets.
• Utilize various types of testing equipment from 4-Pair Tester, Toner-probe set, OTDR, and Fluke DTX for validation purposes.
• Perform work on ladders, scissor lifts, bucket trucks, and various types of elevated platforms.
• Use hand tools/Power Tools to complete assigned tasks and duties daily.
• Ensure compliance with EIA/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Lead small crews and mentor junior technicians as needed.
• Expose to meeting/coordinating with general contractors, vendors, and customers.

• BICSI Technician Certification.
• 3+ years of experience in voice/data structured cabling installation.
• OSHA 10/30 Certification is a plus.
• Experience with fiber optic terminations (fusion splicing is a plus).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow industry best practices.
• Must have a valid driver's license and own transportation.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have all hand/power tools (required).
